Operating PrinciplesCornerstone Authentic Care (CAC) Limited provides health and social care service for adults and older people in the Midlands and surrounding areas. We provide a wide range of personalised home care services for those adults who may have some limitations such as physical, emotional, sensory or mental health issues or those who may require companionship. We endeavour to provide compassionate care which maximizes on our clients’ independence in their own homes. All service delivery is aimed at promoting choice, at the highest standard of care. Responsibilities and purpose of jobEnsure Service Users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their well-being.To contribute to the efficient running of the service.Support Service Users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community.Ensure care plans and other information about how to support Service Users are followed.Be responsible for informing the Registered Manager of any changes in the needs of Service Users.Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.Develop effective working relationships with other employees within Cornerstone Authentic Care Ltd.Work in co-operation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for Service Users.If desired by the Service User, maintain and develop relationships with family, friends and other people important in their life.Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.Be a role model for other staff members and be an ambassador for the service.Be professional, polite and reasonable at all times.Knowledge of, and work within, the fundamental standards.Understand the regulatory framework that governs the service, including the role of CQC and their requirements.Commit to achieving the relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management.Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role.Be open to learning opportunities.
Role specification Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be requiredTo positively support the registered manager in providing leadership to the administration and care functions of the service To always deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager while supporting the decisions made by the registered manager. To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice. To manage the service in accordance with best practice standards, relevant regulations and in line with the Registered Provider, legislative requirements and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time with the Registered Provider. To provide leadership to the care workers. To supervise the care workers within CAC in accordance with agreed standards. To provide care in accordance with current best practices, according to policies and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the manager.  
Person specificationPhysical Characteristics: Essential: Good general health and level of fitness as aspects of the role require moving and handling of people and equipment. Attainments: Essential: Effective verbal and written skills. To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may be required to maintain practices as up to date. Qualifications: Essential: Care certificate or equivalent. Desirable: Other relevant training including NVQ level 4 or equivalent. Management or leadership training. Obtain the relevant qualifications required to work in the deputising role, such as management qualification relevant with the role. Special Aptitudes/Knowledge: Essential: Ability to provide guidance and supervision to less experienced carers and new starters. Ability to support individuals and provide high standards of care. Desirable: An understanding of issues relating to elderly, infirm or those with special needs. Disposition: Essential: An attitude towards others based on respect, dignity and                           equality. Ability to work alone or as a team member. Circumstances: Essential: Willing to meet the needs of clients according to individual care plans and in a manner appropriate to their lifestyle.
