Operating Principles | Cornerstone Authentic Care (CAC) Limited provides health and social care service for adults and older people in the Midlands and surrounding areas. We provide a wide range of personalised home care services for those adults who may have some limitations such as physical, emotional, sensory or mental health issues or those who may require companionship. We endeavour to provide compassionate care which maximizes on our clients’ independence in their own homes. All service delivery is aimed at promoting choice, at the highest standard of care. Responsibilities and purpose of job | Ensure Service Users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their well-being. To contribute to the efficient running of the service. Support Service Users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community. Ensure Care Plans and other information about how to support Service Users are followed. Be responsible for informing the Registered Manager of any changes in the needs of Service Users. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support. Develop effective working relationships with other employees within Cornerstone Authentic Care Ltd. Work in co-operation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximize opportunities for Service Users. If desired by the Service User, maintain and develop relationships with family, friends and other people important in their life. Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth Be a role model for other staff members and be an ambassador for the service. Be professional, polite and reasonable at all times. Knowledge of, and work within, the fundamental standards. Understand the regulatory framework that governs the service, including the role of CQC and their requirements. Commit to achieving the relevant qualifications commensurate with the role. Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management. Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role. Be open to learning opportunities. |
Role specification Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required. | This role requires you to support our clients in their own homes with activities of daily living tasks such as personal care, medication support, meal preparation, domestic help, shopping, outings in the community, whilst at the same time maintaining and promoting their independence, dignity and choice. Shifts patterns are variable and available between 7 am and 10 pm: Successful applicants may need to be flexible in their working patterns and will need to work alternate weekends. Sleeping and waking nights are also available. |
Person specification | Physical Characteristics: Essential: Good general health and level of fitness as aspects of the role require moving and handling of people and equipment. Attainments: Essential: Effective verbal and written skills. Desirable: Have own transport and full driving licence/insurance. Intelligence: Essential: Ability to undertake appropriate training to achieve NVQ Level 2 Care Standard and other relevant training. Desirable: Ability to undertake appropriate training to achieve NVQ Level 3 Care. Special Aptitudes/Knowledge: Essential: Ability to support individuals and provide high standards of care. Desirable: Previous experience of care. An understanding of issues relating to elderly, infirm or those with special needs. Disposition: Essential: An attitude towards others based on respect, dignity and equality. Ability to work alone or as a team member. Circumstances: Essential: Willing to meet the needs of clients according to individual care plans and in a manner appropriate to their lifestyle. Able to work flexible hours including some evenings, bank holidays and weekends. |
